We carry out earthmoving and excavation, bulk earthworks and site preparation, stormwater drainage, road and driveway construction, retaining walls, utility connections, and land development and subdivision works. We work for land developers, builders, councils and private landowners, and several of these works can be delivered together under one contract.
We are based in Shepparton and take on civil projects across Victoria, from Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley to Melbourne's western growth corridor suburbs such as Derrimut, Truganina, Tarneit, Williams Landing, Point Cook and Werribee. Send us your site location and we will confirm whether we can take on the job.
Our civil team reviews your land's development feasibility and potential, site and soil conditions, drainage and stormwater requirements, zoning and planning overlays, and access and utility connection options, then sets out the challenges and the recommended next steps. It is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
A subdivision usually runs in four stages: a feasibility check of zoning, lot size, access, overlays and services; a planning permit from council, with referrals to the water authority, VicRoads and utility providers; the civil works the permit requires, such as roads, drainage, earthworks and service connections; and title registration. Many standard two-lot subdivisions take six to twelve months, while larger estates take longer.
Stormwater requirements in Melbourne are mainly set by Melbourne Water, your local council and the drainage authority for your catchment. We can build from your engineer's drainage design or develop a solution from the site conditions, and every system is connected to the legal point of discharge.
Yes. We manage water, sewer, gas, electrical and telecommunications connections, including trenching, applications, authority liaison and inspections. Depending on the location this can involve Greater Western Water, Yarra Valley Water, AusNet Services, Jemena and telecommunications providers. We lodge applications as early as we can, because some authorities have long lead times.
Send your site details, plans or engineering drawings through the Get a Quote form on our contact page. We review the scope, inspect the site where needed, and give you a quote and a clear schedule before any work begins.
Build timeframes depend on the home design, block size, site conditions, and council approval timelines. As a general guide, most custom home builds take between nine and fourteen months from permit approval to handover. Our team provides a detailed project schedule at the start of every build so you always know what to expect.Â
A standard home design gives you a proven floor plan as a starting point, which can then be adjusted to suit your block and lifestyle. A fully custom build starts from scratch, with our design team creating a home entirely around your vision, your site, and your specific requirements. Both options are available through VK Civil Land Development.Â
Yes. VK Civil Land Development is one of the few builders in Melbourne offering both civil works and custom home construction under one roof. This means one team manages your project from land preparation all the way through to your completed home, eliminating the coordination risks that come with using multiple contractors.Â
We build across Melbourne's western suburbs and growth corridors, including Derrimut, Truganina, Williams Landing, Tarneit, Point Cook, Werribee, and surrounding areas. Contact our team to discuss your specific location and whether we service your area.Â
Build costs vary depending on home size, design complexity, site conditions, and inclusions. Our average build contracts range from $600,000 to $1,400,000. We provide a detailed preliminary quote early in the process so you have a clear, honest picture of your costs before any commitment is made.Â
A knockdown rebuild involves demolishing your existing home and constructing a brand-new one on the same block. It's an ideal solution for homeowners who love their location but need a home that better suits their current lifestyle. VK Civil Land Development manages the entire process from demolition permits through to final handover.Â
